POSITION SUMMARY : The Resident Care Associate provides personal care services, assistance, support, and supervision to residents.RESPONSIBILITIES : \tFollow the assistance plan in providing services to residents.\tAssist in the development and updating of each resident's assistance plan.
\tDo personal laundry for residents if so, as requested in the assistance plan.
\tStrip and make residents' beds weekly on housekeeping day.
\tAssist in serving meals and bussing tables during mealtimes.
\tKeep residents' apartments clean and tidy on a daily basis.
\tAssist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility.
\tGive residents prescribed medication or remind them to take medication as needed.
\tAssist residents with oxygen and other medical device as outlined in the assistance plan.
\tEncourage socialization among residents.
\tAssist with the activity program; conduct activities as directed by the Activity manager / Coordinator or assigned by the supervisor.
\tEncourage and / or remind residents to participate in activities. Promote activities enthusiastically to pique residents' interest.
\tChaperone activities outside the facility when requested.
\tMonitor the health, safety, and well-being of the residents.
\tDocument information pertaining to changes in residents' functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc., as requested.
\tAssist in keeping the environment safe for residents.
\tReport concerns about residents to supervisor and coworkers.
\tRespond to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and arrange for appropriate medical attention / follow-up.
\tAdhere to and carry out all policies and procedures.
\tReport on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs, but no later than 24 hours after the occurrence.
\tEstablish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers, residents, families, and visitors.
\tMaintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations, and personnel.
\tPromote teamwork in providing services to residents.
QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience required.1 year of experience preferred.
CNA preferred.CNA preferred.
BLS required.
