Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions / concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Promptly and accurately process guest purchases / returns using the POS system; handle changes, bag merchandise, provide receipts, and ensure top-notch guest service.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate and in a timely and professional manner.
- Promote GameStop\'s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance, provide timely feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed; ensure alignment with guest service expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; associates should know all job aspects, policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.
- Schedule store associates, ensure break and meal accounting, supervise staffing to maintain guest service quality.
- Approve payroll, enter PTO, make time edits, and verify pay for time worked.
- Ensure store areas, restrooms, and fixtures are clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; maintain working order of equipment.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct visual inspections at closing; report concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and perform required administrative duties.
- Perform stock counts, restock, and move products to ensure representation and organization on the sales floor.
- Count and reconcile daily transaction totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to management.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.
- Help maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager\'s absence.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate\'s or bachelor\'s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.Provide genuine, individualized guest assistance during every visit.Clear verbal and written communication and active listening; English required; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team.Meet performance expectations, including attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace.Operate POS system; basic mathematics and alphabetizing.Complete required paperwork and follow written or verbal instructions; execute financial tasks per policy.Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days / week availability.Remain reliable and trustworthy; able to handle pressure and solve problems creatively.Able to work alone and stand / move for long periods; lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks.Knowledge of military ranks and insignia (for stores on military bases) may be required.Benefits and Compensation
Benefits : Full-time store positions are eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance; bonuses or other incentives may apply.
Compensation : $10.75 - $14.75 per hour.
