Position Details

Schedule : Full time; Shift-based schedule as determined by Director or Supervisor

Reports to : Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor

Compensation : Hourly Employee. Commensurate with experience.

Position Summary

The Intensive Crisis Stabilization (ICS) Therapist is a full-time role responsible for providing crisis intervention services to individuals in Oakland County. This position requires a combination of clinical expertise, rapid response capabilities, and effective communication skills to support individuals in crisis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely response to crisis needs by beginning each shift within Oakland County and remaining within the county for the entire shift.
  • Review pending dispatches 30 minutes prior to beginning of shift and be present at the designated Oakland County location at the start of the shift.
  • Triage crisis calls and provide immediate assistance at hospitals and community locations.
  • Perform telehealth and in-person health screenings and assessments, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submission of all required paperwork in compliance with the policies and procedures (P&P) manual.
  • Assist in providing face-to-face Intensive Crisis Care services to children at the Youth and Family Care Connection location, as scheduled.
  • Provide telehealth assistance for Oakland and Wayne County crisis screening calls, offering immediate support, assessment, and referrals to individuals in crisis.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to gather information and determine appropriate interventions.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities based on community, hospital, and county needs.
  • Provide intensive crisis stabilization services by addressing clients' needs with professionalism, empathy, and care, using creativity and innovative approaches to help them achieve and exceed their personal goals.
  • Appropriately manage and resolve crisis situations, including CPI-approved physical interventions, and pursuing eloping clients, all while maintaining professionalism and ensuring client safety.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clinical and administrative staff.
  • Complete Pre-Admission Reviews and Utilization Review tasks in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate and maintain stable, professional, and appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to accept constructive feedback, implement guidance, and show a willingness to grow and improve professionally.
  • Stay current with professional training requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

Working Conditions

  • Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance in alignment with the Employee Handbook and be prepared for active engagement with consumers.
  • This role requires extended periods of remaining in a stationary position during HIPAA-compliant telehealth and in-person sessions and requires the ability to perform physical activities such as bending and reaching.   • The position involves prolonged active listening and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in using computers, phones, and office equipment for documentation and telehealth purposes is necessary. This includes but is not limited to Office 365 and Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • May obtain approval to begin shift from Oakland County residence contingent upon an immediate response and deployment, if no screenings are available.
  • The role may require moving within the office or traveling between locations to fulfill job responsibilities. Reasonable accommodation will be considered based on individual needs.
  • Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology.
  • Active current clinical licensure (LLC, LLMSW, LLP acceptable; full licensure preferred; TLLP not eligible) in the State of Michigan and continued satisfactory standings with the appropriate board and insurance entities.
