Overview

Join to apply for the Structural Engineer - Mission Critical role at HED . This position is open to individuals located near our offices in Boston, MA and Dallas, TX.

Base pay range

$43.00 / hr - $53.00 / hr

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design and documentation for projects at all stages from schematic design through construction administration, typically on multiple projects at one time.
  • Act as a Discipline Team Leader on small to medium sized projects and collaborate with the Project Manager and the Project Architect to deliver Positive Impact for clients and project teams.
  • Produce drawings, calculations, specifications, and supporting material research to advance project development.
  • Document interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration.
  • Mentor staff to ensure quality services within a project team concept and in line with HED best practices.
  • Plan the structural discipline's project efforts, including preparing and monitoring Discipline Work Plans.
  • Attend project meetings as necessary and represent the structural discipline to partners and clients.
  • Interface with other Discipline Team Leaders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum four years of technical design experience in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience with Mission Critical projects preferred.
  • Professional Licensure – Registered PE required.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil / Structural or Architectural Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of the full project lifecycle, including design and technical execution.
  • LEED Accreditation preferred.
  • Understanding of coordination with related design disciplines.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate others, estimate hours, and delegate work.
  • Proficiency with ETABS, RAM, RISA, and other structural analysis software; strong Revit skills preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Occasional travel to and from project sites across the US for meetings.
  • Ability to access project sites for observation, investigation, and evaluation purposes.
  • Ability to use office equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
