Sales Representative, Architectural

Location :  Kansas City

Key areas you will contribute to in this role include :

  • Cultivate consulting relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers.
  • Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications.
  • Provide timely and accurate product information for use in commercial project specifications.
  • Deliver targeted continuing educational programs highlighting new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services.
  • Assist with product substitution and approval procedures and follow up to ensure specifications are held in the bid process.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com as a customer relationship, project tracking and time management tool.

What you will be doing :

  • You will work alongside a committed team of professional consultants who are focused on providing specification support and services to many of the top architectural firms in the country.
  • You will serve as the point-of-contact for the architect's education, specification, client satisfaction and technical support needs.
  • You will be responsible for architectural development, project tracking and ultimately gaining approval for our internal team of writers to prepare Division 08 door and hardware specification documents.
  • You will promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present project proposals for value-added professional services.
  • What we are looking for :

  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about selling a full range of door opening solutions.
  • You are detail-oriented, organized, and known for follow-up habits.
  • You’re a strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator.
  • You can work independently but believe in teamwork.
  • You have the ability to read, understand specifications / facility standards, and have industry-related technical and sales aptitude.
  • Ability to travel within an assigned territory and meet the requirements of customers.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling.
  • You can lift / carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.
  • Education and / or experience :

  • Your background includes a College / University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as : architectural, design / engineering / drafting, construction science / management, business, or similar).
  • At least 2-3 years’ industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management, will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
  • Working knowledge of industry-related softwares is a plus.
  • ASSA ABLOY offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including bonus, a 401(k) plan, education assistance, company car, and an environment that reflects our commitment to our employees. The wage range for this role is $95k - $115k, plus bonus, and considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business requirements, geographic location and other business and organizational needs. The salary range is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
