Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An educational opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D / HH) students within a K-12 public school setting located in Forsyth, GA. This position is a contracted role for the academic school year, focused on delivering specialized instruction and support to meet the unique needs of students with hearing impairments.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide direct instruction and support tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels (K-12).
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families, audiologists, and related service providers.
  • Utilize appropriate munication methods, including sign language, assistive technology, and oral munication strategies, to enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to ongoing assessments of student progress.
  • Advocate for acmodations and resources to ensure equitable access to the general education curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and report progress to parents and school administrators.

Qualifications :

  • Valid teaching certification or licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or a related field.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Knowledge of current instructional strategies and technologies used in D / HH education.
  • Strong munication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant munication modalities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and specialists.
