Position Purpose

The Facility Maintenance Associate plays a vital role in supporting this mission of Rolling Hills Community Church by working to ensure the church's building and campus remain functional, safe and well maintained. This position will focus primarily on maintaining equipment, assisting with repairs and supporting facility operations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance and minor repairs of facility systems, equipment and tools including but not limited to HVAC, lighting, plumbing, vehicles.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of mechanical and operational systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on utility vehicles, tools, and machinery used on campus.
  • Use computerized maintenance management system (Upkeep) to complete assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support seasonal ground tasks such as irrigation systems, and inclement weather related projects.
  • Coordinate onsite with outside vendors or contractors to help facilitate specialized repairs or services.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Director and Facility Maintenance and Landscaping staff to identify improvement projects and safety concerns.
  • Cross train with custodial team for set up and take down of equipment for church events and cleaning procedures.
  • Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • College Degree or equivalent trade or relevant experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience in facilities maintenance or similar role
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical or irrigation systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and basic safety practices
  • Understanding, knowing and aligning to mission / vision
  • Excellent relational, interpersonal, problem-solving and rapport-building skills with both staff and volunteers
  • Excellent self-management skills; able to lead teams or work independently depending on the need
  • Adapts effectively to changing priorities and performs effectively in pressure situations
  • High attention to detail
  • General computer proficiency and willingness to learn / adapt to currently church software
  • Must have valid drivers License for use of Church Vehicles
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including some evenings and / or weekends as needed
