Position Summary
The Server is responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience by assisting guests with food and beverage selections, accurately ringing in and monitoring orders, serving drinks and dishes, and maintaining the dining ambiance and overall cleanliness and presentation of the space. The Server has a significant impact on guest satisfaction and must focus on connecting with guests and enhancing their experience through a combination of engaging personality and effective suggestive sales tactics.

What You'll Do :
I. Guest Relations & Service Excellence
Prepare the dining room and lobby bar areas for service by setting up tables, chairs, and service stations to established standards.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests upon entering the restaurant, and when needed, escort guests to their table and assist them with seating.
Interact with guests in a friendly, positive manner, making them feel welcome and assisting them with finding the restroom.
Greet guests promptly and take initial water and beverage orders immediately.
Handle guests' special dietary needs, allergies, or special requests with utmost sensitivity, following company policies.
Maintain expert knowledge of all menu offerings, including ingredients and allergens.
Help guests in making selections from food and beverage menus, suggest courses and pairings, and answer all food preparation questions.
Ring in all orders accurately through the POS system.
Check identification of all customers appearing under 30 to verify legal drinking age prior to serving them.
Deliver food and beverages accurately to guest's tables in a timely manner, ensuring presentation standards are met.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen to manage timing of food and relay any guest feedback.
Deal with guest complaints by finding a way to say yes; involve the manager on duty (MOD) as needed.
Process guest payments in a timely and accurate manner.
Process financials on a shift-by-shift basis, including submitting accurate cash sales.
Accurately report cash tips and contribute to the tip pool as applicable; record tip information on sheet or as directed by the management team.
II. Operational Support & Compliance
Prepare for service by setting your service station and ensuring water pitchers are filled.
Complete opening and closing side work checklist daily for scheduled shifts.
Maintain cleanliness of the dining room and lobby bar areas throughout the shift by actively participating in sweeping, cleaning windows and doors, etc.
Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities.
Maintain sanitation to Department of Health standards; keep the work area clean and organized.
Inform MOD immediately of any DOH or OSHA / workplace safety violations.
Comply with company's policies and procedures, as well as city, state, and federal laws.
Adhere to all HR policies and guidelines.
Knowledgeable in all restaurant operations.
Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
At least 1-2 years of experience as a server, preferably at a fine dining establishment.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong focus on hospitality.
Multi-tasking abilities.
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Essential Functions :

Strict adherence to posted schedule while clocking in and out properly.

Maintain general knowledge of the restaurant; location, transportation methods, management team, etc.
