Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager for our Client's chemical plant in Rincon, GA. The Production Manager oversees daily manufacturing operations at the Rincon plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production output that meets budgeted goals and customer demand. This role manages a team of four Shift Leaders, one Production Expert, and twelve Operators, while collaborating closely with Engineering, Maintenance, SH&E, Quality Control, and Logistics. Key responsibilities include optimizing production schedules, maintaining accurate SAP data and inventory records, driving continuous improvement in processes and equipment, and ensuring compliance with PSM and environmental standards. The Production Manager also leads performance evaluations, hiring decisions, and training initiatives for operating personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manufacture the budgeted volume and mix of finished products for the Rincon site; yet be flexible to respond to customer demand and plant problems. Collaboration between the CST procurement teams and Logistics personnel are essential for this responsibility.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, SH&E, and Q.C. to resolve production issues. Documentation of issues and resolutions required.
- Ensure safe operating procedures and practices are followed at all times.
- Maintain reporting mechanism necessary to support the Plant Manager in monitoring production rates, yields, quality, cost variances, downtime, etc.
- Ensure transfer of accurate production data into SAP and spreadsheets.
- Ensure inventory accuracy, including proper labeling of all inventories. Collaboration with Logistics department is essential in this function.
- Collaborate with SH&E to ensure PSM compliance; including providing Operator / Shift Leader participation in PHA analysis. Follow-up on action items are required.
- Collaborate with SH&E Manager on all environmental & safety aspects of operations.
- Identify areas for improvement in processes, equipment, and automation.
- Provide trouble-shooting assistance.
- Ensure good housekeeping procedures and practices.
- Evaluate performance of KPI reports
- Support the process of hiring, termination, evaluation, and salary planning of production operating personnel.
- Collaborate with Production Specialist and Process Engineer to ensure plant procedures are current and accurate.
- Participates in incident or near miss investigations and implementation of corrective action items, which may have been a contributing factor to the incident.
- Support training for new product, process, and equipment introduction with Production Trainer, Production Scientist, Production Scheduler, R&D, Engineering and Q.C.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemical preferredAt least 8 years chemical operations experience with minimum 3 years chemical management experienceExperience with batch distillation, continuous distillation, batch reaction, continuous reaction and material handlingExperience working in a PSM environment.Required Competencies / Attributes :
Demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels in the organization.Demonstrate the ability to operate and understand computer controlled process equipment and programs that used in process control.Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.Excellent understanding of production documentation system, production control, and SAP software.Working knowledge of emergency response, safety procedures, and practices and environmental regulations.Understanding of wastewater treatment in operating areas and downstream impact.Hands-on, results oriented with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Physical Requirements :
