Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable imaging procedures in the Radiology department, operating rooms, nursing units, and outpatient areas. This role is responsible for ensuring patient safety, producing quality diagnostic images, assisting with departmental operations, and supporting radiology students as needed.
Responsibilities
Perform routine radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable examinations in Radiology, nursing units, outpatient areas, and surgeryTake radiographs per physician ordersMaintain versatility within the diagnostic departmentProtect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposureAssist with front desk operations and computer systemsReport and document all equipment issues to manager and Clinical EngineersSchedule exams throughout the department and notify supervisor when necessaryUse centralized transport program for patient movementAccess and update patient exam information in computer systems, including ordering, reprinting, and cancellationsCommunicate with other departments professionally and effectivelyCall in on-call imaging associates as neededSupport Radiologic Technologist studentsPerform quality assurance duties related to equipment, regulatory compliance (ODH, Joint Commission), supply ordering, and auditsMaintain availability for assignments as neededEnsure compliance with patient confidentiality and record access policiesRequirements
Experience
OR experience requiredKnowledge of medical terminology, isolation, and sterile techniques / proceduresSkilled in patient positioning and operation of x-ray machines and printersLicenses & Certifications
ARRTBLS (American Heart Association)Education
