Job Overview
The Ice Cream Driver plays a key role in executing assigned driver pick-up and delivery tasks. This includes performing daily inspections on trucks, reporting daily on trucks’ operating conditions, and ensuring the vehicle is maintained in safe and professional operating conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Operate commercial vehicles requiring CDL Class A and Class B licenses to deliver frozen ice cream products to retail customers, distributors, and ESL dairy facilities while maintaining strict temperature controls to preserve product quality and prevent spoilage.Load and secure ice cream products in refrigerated trailers and trucks using proper handling techniques, ensuring optimal product placement and temperature zones while maximizing load capacity and maintaining frozen product integrity during transport.Execute delivery routes to various customer locations including grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants, and ice cream shops, managing delivery schedules and coordinating with customers to ensure timely receipt of frozen products.Perform comprehensive vehicle and refrigeration system inspections including checking trailer connections, monitoring freezer temperatures, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety requirements for transporting frozen dairy products.Maintain detailed delivery records including product temperatures, customer receipts, inventory counts, and route documentation, ensuring accurate tracking of frozen inventory and compliance with food safety regulations throughout the cold chain.Provide professional customer service during deliveries by coordinating with store personnel for product receiving, handling frozen product exchanges or returns, and communicating any delivery issues or temperature concerns to maintain ESL dairy's reputation for quality frozen products.Min. Qualifications
GED or High School is preferred.Minimum of 1 year driving experience with CDL-A / B with Air Brake with excellent driving history.Must be able to drive a standard transmission.Must be able to drive automatic straight trucks.Byrne
