The primary function of the WOCN is to serve as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems.  This role offers an opportunity for an expert RN to demonstrate their skill in an autonomous work environment where support is available and offered whenever requested. This part time role will work 20 hours each week, 40 hours per pay period, will require the successful candidate to work Monday through Friday 8-4 : 30 2 days one week and three days the other week of the pay period; weekends are not generally required though may be a necessity occasionally based upon business need; no holidays on call or overnight work.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY :

• Serves as a consultant in the management of patients with wounds, fistulas, ostomies and / or incontinence issues.
• Facilitates the learning process for patients / families with wounds ostomies and / or incontinence by influencing changes in behavior, knowledge, attitudes and / or acquisition of psychomotor skills.
• Demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to deliver care appropriate to infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Provides informative programs to staff for the purpose of developing skills, and knowledge related to patients / families with wounds, ostomies, fistulas, and / or incontinence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : We seek a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required and MSN preferred. You will possess 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience, leadership is preferred. WOCN certification is preferred; or completion of certification required within 2 years of starting.

Hourly Pay Range : $41.28 - $66.05

This pay rate / range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
