Analyst, Commercial Valuation

We are seeking a personable, detail-oriented, and organized professional who has a passion for both people and numbers. The day-to-day role would involve conducting thorough research and financial analysis for various types of commercial real estate assets. Specifically, the Analyst will conduct research and interviews to understand the local market, conduct a supply and demand analysis, prepare revenue and expense forecasts, and use models to derive a value under supervision. The analyst will also maintain the property database with sale and lease comparables, as well as help prepare appraisal reports with assistance from senior valuation professionals.
This role is best suited for individuals with a strong interest in real estate appraisal and a desire to build a long-term career in the appraisal industry. While we welcome applicants from a variety of academic backgrounds, those studying Real Estate, Business, or related fields tend to align most closely with the nature of the work.
This role will be based in multiple cities across the United States. The analyst will participate in a 6-month training program that will take place in the Chicago, IL office, where the analyst is expected to reside temporarily. Hybrid work-from-home opportunities may be available upon request, but it will be required for this role to be in office 3-4 days each week, especially during training.

Appraisal is both a science and an art. While governed by professional standards, it allows for flexibility and innovation when supported by sound judgment. Analysts will learn to approach valuation as a puzzlewhere context, clarity, and reasoning are as can be more important than foundational formulas.

Physical requirements include the ability to travel to asset tours, the ability to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone and via emails, and visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen.
Hybrid / remote office requirements include a reliable internet connection, ability to work with privacy, and a quiet background for making frequent phone calls.

The salary range for the Analyst position is $55,000-$65,000.
