Mult-Craft Maintenance (Film Plant) – Decatur, AL

Overview

Collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.

Responsibilities

  • Performing tests and inspections of equipment and preventative maintenance to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade electrical, electronic, mechanical, and computer equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, AC / DC electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, motors, controls, VFDs and related equipment.
  • Assist in developing plans to correct equipment deficiencies and determine long-term solutions to improve reliability.
  • Complete other duties as assigned or necessary including the willingness to work overtime, various shifts, and to be on-call.

Skills and Expertise (Qualifications)

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

  • Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Four (4) years of Industrial Maintenance experience in a multi-craft mechanical / electrical or controls maintenance position.
  • Must have successfully completed 3M Maintenance Skilled Craft test battery.

    • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed :

  • Two-year technical degree / diploma in a multi-craft technology program.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing motors, pumps, web handling systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drive systems and related components, valves, brakes, and clutches.
  • Proficiency with electro-mechanical equipment such as pumps, AC / DC motors, motor drives, PLC troubleshooting, etc.
  • Advanced troubleshooting with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in industrial lasers.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and computer skills.
  • Overtime, weekends, and holiday work may be required. Slow rotating shift.

    Candidates must successfully complete 3M MSTB testing.

    Pay Transparency

    The starting rate of pay for multi craft position is $44.01 / hr. The starting rate of pay for maintenance mechanic position is $41.82 / hr. This targeted compensation range represents a good faith estimate and can vary based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Other benefits and incentives may apply.
