Job Title : Warehouse Lead Status : Non-exempt

Reports to : Warehouse Supervisor Department Name : DTG Indirect

Position Summary

The Warehouse Lead oversees and participates in the receiving, slotting, replenishment, pulling, receipt expediting as well as storing and issuing of goods. Maintains inventory control records and prepares related reports; serves as a lead over one or more assigned warehouse functions; trains and provides lead work direction and guidance to assigned staff and is responsible for accurately supervising warehouse’s operations.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned team of warehouse personnel and delegates tasks to ensure proper and timely completion of assignments.
  • Supports the Warehouse Supervisor in the planning and allocation of manpower.
  • Oversees and participates in the receiving, unloading and inspection of shipments for damage and conformity to purchase order specifications and packing slips; contacts supervisor regarding shortages, damaged goods or other discrepancies; completes receiving, discrepancy and follow-up reports.
  • Oversees and participates in the stocking of goods; plans storage location and determines proper location of supplies to allow maximum space utilization.
  • Fills, prioritizes and processes requisitions; pull, pack and ship items or goods according to established procedures.
  • Provides information and resolves issues concerning requisitions, stock on hand, back orders and shipment discrepancies, damage or storage.
  • Operates a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, turret trucks, pallet jacks and dollies; operates a computer and assigned software to input data and generate reports.
  • Monitors accuracy and organization during unloading / inspection of all inbound goods / returned product.
  • Reports progress updates, key achievements and any concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Makes recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Operates a computer and assigned software.
  • Full adherence to health and safety policy and procedures.
  • Assists in employee training, development and engagement.
  • Maintains high standards of security in the warehouse.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft OFFICE.
  • High organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Direct experience executing inventory processes not limited to receiving, slotting, replenishment, order pulling and cycle counting.
  • Experience with ERP System a plus.
  • WMS Experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Reliability and dependability to complete work assignments.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work well under stress with minimal supervision.
  • Reading, writing and math skills; ability to differentiate products with similar characteristics (size, color, style, etc.).
  • Previous working experience in a Warehouse environment required.
  • Requirements

  • Forklift Operation Certification proof required; or must be able to pass forklift certification on-site.
  • Previous Lead Experience preferred (2+ years).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision (including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus) and hearing.
  • Ability to interpret and understand product shipment information from various orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy through preparation of transportation documents.
  • Must be able to work weekends and / or overtime if required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Physical requirements

  • Great physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift, lower, or carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to stand for a prolonged period.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing and reaching (may require climbing of ladders for top-level selections)

    Material Handling team, cycle counters, order pulling AND replenishment teams.
