About The Position

X-Ray Technologist

Profession : Technician

Specialty : X-Ray

Duration : 9 months

Shift : Monday through Friday

Hours per Shift : 8 am to 4 pm

Experience : Minimum 2 years required, Bone density and Breast imaging experience required

License : Client Radiologic Technologist License (L.R.T)

Certifications : American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified)

Must-Have : Bone density experience must be listed on the resume to be considered

Description :

The X-Ray Technologist operates or oversees operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment.

They produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

The technologist is responsible for preparing the patient for radiological procedures.

They adhere to safety measures to ensure compliance with regulations and the safety of patients and staff.

Patient service requirements are identified by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients.

Gaining patient cooperation involves reducing anxieties and providing explanations of treatment.

The technologist prepares the patient for radiological procedures by positioning them.

They adjust immobilization devices and move equipment into specified positions.

Equipment controls are adjusted to set appropriate exposure factors.

Clienttion exposure is minimized to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.

They use beam restrictive devices and patient shielding alongside knowledge of exposure factors.

Established infection control policies and procedures are adhered to.

Production and quality of radiographs are maintained by following established standards and procedures.

The technologist processes radiographs and observes the results for any necessary adjustments.

Patient care services are documented by charting in patient and department records.

The technologist ensures the operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.

They follow manufacturer's instructions for troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs.

Equipment inventories are maintained, and new equipment and techniques are evaluated.

Radiology supplies inventory is maintained by checking stock levels and anticipating needed supplies.

A safe and clean working environment is upheld by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Professional and technical knowledge is maintained by fulfilling continuing education requirements.

The technologist attends educational workshops, reviews professional publications, and participates in professional societies.

Contributions to team efforts are made by accomplishing related results as needed.

Yearly age-specific competency requirements are completed along with other relevant duties as assigned.
