Director of Education, Learning & Impact
Puentes de Salud seeks a dynamic and visionary Director of Education, Learning & Impac t to lead the organizations education portfolio, ensuring the integration of health initiatives and holistic approaches to learning. The Director of Education, Learning & Impact will advance three core goals :
Program Implementation : Oversee the design, management, and evaluation of education programming, ensuring quality, innovation, and alignment with community needs.Data & Learning : Provide reliable data, insights, and learning to inform organizational decision-making, strategy, fundraising, and community engagement efforts.Mentorship : Lead the Mentorship Program across all Puentes activities, mentoring staff, volunteers, and youth leaders to strengthen capacity and ensure long-term sustainability.The Director of Education, Learning & Impact works closely with the Executive Director and the Director of Development, and Director of Medical Education to ensure program insights inform strategy and fundraising, while maintaining distinct responsibility for technical leadership and program management to avoid duplication.
Currently, Puentes de Salud implements two flagship education programs, Lanzando Lderes (LL) and Puentes Hacia el Futuro (PHF), alongside expanding initiatives such as English classes for adult learners,, mental health supports, and arts education. This position plays a central role in strengthening and scaling these programs to better serve children, youth, families, and communities.
Education Leadership and Strategy (50%)
Provide strategic direction and management of all education programming.Mentor and support education staff in implementing extracurricular, youth development, and academic enrichment activities.Ensure education initiatives are fully integrated with health, mental health, and wellness programming.Oversee quality assurance by offering regular feedback and technical guidance for program improvement.Manage program budgets, awards, and donor-funded education projects, ensuring compliance and accountability.Foster inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed learning environments.Program Management, Learning & Mentorship (20%)
Lead Monitoring, Evaluation, Adapting, and Learning (MEAL) systems to track outcomes and demonstrate impact.Coordinate the Mentorship Program for the Education division with the Clinic Coordinators, providing coaching and supervision to staff, volunteers, and youth leaders to strengthen skills, leadership capacity, and professional growth.Develop tools, dashboards, and evidence-based reports for diverse stakeholders.Produce learning briefs, success stories, and impact highlights that communicate program achievements.Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with organizational priorities.Work closely with the Operations Coordinator to design, implement, and continuously improve the volunteer engagement plan, ensuring effective coordination, follow-up, and support for volunteers.Support Education Supervisors onsite during OST programming and act in the role of facilitator or supervisor in the event support for programming is needed onsite.Business Development & Partnerships (30%)
Partner with the internal and external stakeholders to liaise, identify and continue or pursue new education opportunities in coordination with the Executive Director and Director of Medical Education.Prospecting and coordinating with the Director of Development for fundraising opportunities for the Education division.Maintain and develop contracts with community partners for continued learning opportunities.Draft concept notes, grant applications, and proposals to expand funding and programming in coordination with the Director of Development.Cultivate strong relationships with donors, foundations, schools, universities, and community organizations.Represent Puentes de Salud in education and health networks, coalitions, and advocacy spaces.Qualifications
Masters degree in Education, Health, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive leadership experience in education, youth development, or community-based programs.Demonstrated experience integrating education and health initiatives (mental health, SEL, nutrition, arts, etc.).Strong skills in staff mentorship, program design, and monitoring and evaluation.Proven success in fundraising, grant writing, and donor stewardship.Fully Bilingual (English / Spanish).Commitment to equity, inclusion, and serving immigrant and underserved communities.Flexible work from home options available.
