We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Supervisor to provide leadership, supervision, and support to our outpatient mental health staff. This vital role ensures high-quality clinical care, fosters team development, and upholds agency policies and compliance standards. The Clinical Supervisor will also maintain a small clinical caseload to stay connected to the therapeutic work.
A Day in the life as the Clinical Supervisor
Supervision & Leadership
- Provide regular individual and group supervision to mental health counselors, including written performance evaluations addressing clinical and administrative expectations (e.g. clinical quality and client contact standards)
- Conduct performance evaluations and ensure that client services, standards and practices are provided to the satisfaction of the community and governing bodies (e.g. OMH)
- Lead interviewing, onboarding, and training of new clinical staff.
- Manage and maintains manpower resources; time, attendance records and oversee staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for program
- Participate in leading monthly clinic meetings, and provide in-service training to clinicians as needs are identified
- Uphold culturally responsive practices and promote a respectful, inclusive work environment.
- Participate in agency-wide quality improvement and strategic initiatives.
- Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft based products and agency programs such as Credible (EHR).
- Maintain positive working relationships with program staff and others within the agency; demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills during interactions with internal and external collaterals
Direct Clinical Work
Maintain a small case load providing mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and psychotherapy services to a diverse population of individuals and familiesComplete and maintain electronic client files, administrative tasks and statistical reports in a timely mannerProvide case management, advocacy, linkage and referrals to community resources as neededPrepare clinical documentation, reports, and maintain up-to-date client records using the agency's EHR (Credible).Engage in ongoing professional development and best practices, including cultural competence and trauma-informed care.What has prepared you for this role?
Licensed in New York State as one of the following :Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-D) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-D) is preferredLMSW, LMHC and LMFT with a combination of relevant experience would be consideredDemonstrated experience and knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of specified mental disorders; comprehensive mental health assessments; theories and practice of clinical supervisionStrong problem solving and conflict resolution skills in both organizational and interpersonal mattersExcellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.Knowledge and support for the agency mission, values and philosophyProficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (preferably Credible).A valid NYS driver’s license and active auto insurance.Why Join Us?
