Under direct supervision of the\nGeneral Diagnostic Manager and Medical Director the Radiologic Technologist\n(RT) will produce diagnostic images utilizing a variety of radiographic\nequipment. Fix radiographic, fluoroscopic and mobile equipment following\nprescribed protocols and procedures. As the RT, you will competently perform\nradiographic procedures on neonates, infants, children, adults and geriatric\npatients. Complete all studies in a timely and efficient manner and produce\nfilm images utilizing Digital Radiography, image processors and process as\nprescribed standards. You will be required to rotate to all radiology sites\nstaffed by UCLA Health.

Duties include but are not limited\nto :

  • Assist in performing sterile\n technique procedures as required

\n

  • Assist Radiologist as needed
  • \n

  • Follow established quality\n assurance procedures
  • \n

  • Maintain patient dignity and\n confidentiality
  • \n

  • Patient education prior to the\n examination
  • \n

  • Preparation of needed supplies\n and equipment set up
  • \n

    The RT is expected to support UCLA healthcare\nradiology locations in the Central Los Angeles region. Radiologic Technologists need to possess\nthe skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of\nduties assigned to the position; graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training\nProgram approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent training,\nmaintaining current CRT, CRT – Fluoro and ARRT licensure.

    Internal\ncandidates will be placed according to their Active / Current career ladder\nlevel.

    Salary : \n$48.52 - $59.14 Hourly

    Qualifications

  • ARRT certification- required
  • \n

  • CRT license – required
  • \n

  • Fluoroscopic permit – required
  • \n

  • BCLS certificate from American Heart Association or American Red Cross– required
  • \n

  • JCERT approved Radiologic Technologist Program graduate
  • \n

  • Ability to adapt to advancement and changing technology
  • \n

  • Ability to identify and recognize contraindications for exams. (Radiology Only)
  • \n

  • Ability to respond efficiently to expressed needs of referring services, physicians and patients
  • \n

  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinical billing (IDX codes) to ensure appropriate accounting and reimbursement of services rendered
  • \n

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, with ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses
  • \n

  • Skill in employing independent decision making while performing various job functions
  • \n

  • Telephone manners and skills to handle heavy telephone lines with courtesy and tact
  • \n

  • Understand the requirements of the EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act)
