Sr. Operations Manager

Managing all activities related to operations such as, but not limited to manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management. Contributes to overall strategic direction of the company and execution of strategic goals. Build and maintain cohesive team and provide continued support for sales function.

This position is required to ensure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to Quality Systems Regulations, ISO 9001 / 13485, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes).

Operations Team Core Responsibility :

  • Determine and request resources, both personnel and equipment, while remaining conscious of cash position
  • Responsible for cost, quality, and delivery commitments
  • Lead regular Level 10 meetings
  • Participate in individual department meetings, and provide high level decision making
  • Provide back-up support for all operations teams, as needed

Employee Oversight Core Responsibility :

  • Build a high performing cohesive team
  • Ensure high morale of team
  • Ensure all safety and GMP standards are followed
  • Monitor employee performance and attendance, including employee discipline as necessary
  • Provide guidance and training opportunities for operation departments at all levels
  • Communications Core Responsibility :

  • Communicate to team / company continual operational updates
  • Plan, manage and negotiate with new and existing sub-contractors
  • Participate in new customer and new vendor relationship opportunities
  • Metrics and Reporting Core Responsibility :

  • Gather information and track weekly / monthly metrics, as seen fit for company needs
  • Set team and individual goals for operations team
  • Provide support during audits
  • Propose changes to controlled documents to improve efficiency and robustness of procedures
  • Establish quality standards and develop cost controls by obtaining data required
  • Continual Improvement Secondary Responsibility :

  • Champion continuous improvement and lean initiatives
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce cost, improve profitability and improve productivity
  • Work directly with HR on improving employee relations and training
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :

  • Knowledge of GMP, ISO, other requirements / regulations, and their application in the operations environment.
  • Proven problem-solving ability to resolve technical issues as well as employee and departmental and inter-departmental issues.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical operations and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute long term improvement projects and strategic vision.
  • Established ability to participate as a team member or leader in cross-functional groups, including external customers.
  • Ability to use tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to gather, analyze and present data.
  • Ability to build a continuous improvement culture for the company.
  • Ability to motivate and influence at all levels of an organization.
  • Qualifications : Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in operations management, engineering, or business administration or five plus years related experience and / or training.
  • Experience working in a LEAN environment.
  • Strong computer skills including proficient in MS Office and an ERP system.
  • Preferred :

  • Prior experience in managing Government Contracts; working with / in JCP or ITAR environments.
  • Five plus years of experience directly supervising management personnel.
  • Experience in electronics industry.
  • Additional experience with wires and cable harnesses preferred.
  • Physical Requirements / Capabilities :

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and the ability to talk and hear.
  • Ability to frequently sit for prolonged amounts of time, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm's length, climb or balance, stoop or bend, push, pull, kneel, and crouch as job requires.
  • Ability to regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
