Alter Metal Recycling in Greeley, CO is hiring for a Sampler.

Under supervision, the sampler confirms that the quality of our products is meeting our customers’ requirements; they measure the efficiency of our process and equipment and get information that enables the company to make upgrades to our current setup. This position also serves as a backup to the equipment operators.

• Be able to use Microsoft excel and write emails.
• Be able to navigate on a computer.
• Be able to properly document information.
• Wear proper PPE including a face shield.
• Ensures the nonferrous separators are working properly.
• Confirms which material will be running when sample will be taken.
• Confirms and records plant settings (Feeder) or records the setting on the Steinert.
• Records weather conditions
• Places 5-gallon bucket under conveyor of material designated for sampling.
• After material is gathered, one should be chosen at random and sampled.
• Calculates the weight of the samples.
• Takes picture of the samples
• Enter the data in the record keeping software on the computer.
• Ensure your work area is always cleaned prior to starting any sample. Contamination will result in incorrect recovery data. If you notice any discrepancies with your samples, immediately report this to your manager, supervisor, and lead personnel.
• Our goal with sampling is to have data readily available to discuss any issues that may arise from production issues to customer complaints.
• When taking samples, you need to record the date, time sample was taken, density at time sample was taken, and material being sampled. Under normal production conditions, you will need 2 samples of Heavies per shift of production, 1 sample of Twitch per shift of production per week and 1 sample of Zeppelin every 2-4 weeks. This is subject to change depending on production and sampling requirements.
• There are 3 scales you can utilize in the sample room. To record a tare weight, you can either place your bin on the scale and then zero the scale and always have a tare weight of 0 or you can record the tare weight each time after you empty your sample material from the bin.
• Every time a sample is placed in a bin on the scale, you will need to record this data onto the sample sheet provided.
• Once you complete a sample sheet, you will then record this data into an Excel spreadsheet. This is for you to then email out to a specified group daily.
• The spreadsheet data will then be entered into a master spreadsheet that will contain all sample data you have recorded.

Hours : M-F, 6a-4 : 30p

Wage : $22-$24 / hr
