Sr. Platform Data Architect

Title : Sr. Platform Data Architect

Location : REMOTE

Salary : $125k-$165k + benefits

Requirements : 5+ years data engineering in large, enterprise, publicly traded companies. Multi-tenant data architecture, AWS database, skilled in scripting languages (Python, C#, Java, etc) and ETL tools a plus

Position Overview

We are an established and growing software / lending service specialized in small business lending. Due to growth, we are now seeking a Sr. Platform Data Architect to lead the end-to-end development of large datasets across platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting scalable data solutions that support our business objectives, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architecture solutions that support business requirements and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data lakes, and ETL processes to ensure efficient data flow and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and access controls across data platforms.
  • Optimize existing data systems and provide recommendations for enhancements and upgrades.
  • Monitor and evaluate data platform performance, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data architecture and engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, AWS database (AWS Lake Formation and EMR is a plus).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with other scripting languages is a plus (Java, C#, BASH, Typescript, etc).
  • Solid experience with data lakes, ETL processes and tools (SSIS, Alteryx, Talend), and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with technologies like RDS Aurora, Redshift, Athena, Neptune.
  • Experience with distributed systems and data security / privacy practices.
  • Knowledge of data streaming technologies such as Kinesis and Firehose is a plus.
  • Familiarity with non-relational databases, data stores.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and, code reviews, build processes, testing and source management practices.
