CT / MRI Technologist - Dual Modality
This is a dual role to perform all MRI and CT examinations, CT biopsy’s, 3D exams and reformations, etc., and assist the Radiologist during these procedures. A vast knowledge of cross-sectional and vascular anatomy, catheters and abnormal pathology is essential.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S) :
- Graduate of approved Radiologic Technology School with current ARRT registry and possessing a current New York State license of Radiologic Technology preferred.
- 2 or more years’ experience as CT Technologist is required.
- Board Certified in CT or MRI is preferred
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION :
Ability to assess Lab Values that pertain to examOperates specialized imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images, as directed by physicians.Performs CT scan studies and Special Procedures of anatomical areas as ordered / directed, according to established standards and procedures.Perform MRI studies on an as needed basisOperate all radiographic imaging equipment associated with Special Procedures, Computed Tomography, including but not limited to monitors, injectors, scanners.Prepare IV Contrast Power injectors.Administers Contrast Media as requiredKnowledge of cross sectional anatomy, positioning and imaging techniques.IV certificationProperly and accurately screen patients for both CT and MRI (Lab and MRI Safety)Current Basic Life Support (CPR)Track, scan, verify studies and complete all required paperwork associated with such.Monitor PACS for Problem Studies and Call Reports as measure of default when dedicated person unable.Document on requisition appropriate needed informationPrep patient for diagnostic imaging exam.Read doctor's notes as to why exam is being performed.Take Patient histories.Explain procedure to patient.Correct Positioning of patients.Prepare solutions for patients to drink. Barium, contrast agents.Utilize shielding as necessary for patient and staff.Rotate shift and campus as departmental needs require.Attention to detailPositive attitudePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Should be able to push / pull, lift / move 35 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Salary Range : $38.59-57.89 / hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
