About The Position

Job Title : Respiratory Therapist Per Diem

Location : Shasta Regional Medical Center California

Position Summary :

Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our Per Diem respiratory care team . The Respiratory Therapist provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency respiratory care services to patients of all ages, consistent with physician orders and hospital policy.

Key Responsibilities :

Administer respiratory therapy treatments, oxygen, and aerosolized medications as ordered.

Manage ventilators and other life-support equipment safely and effectively.

Perform arterial blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation.

Assess patient respiratory status and document care in the EMR.

Respond to emergency codes and provide airway management assistance.

Clean, assemble, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment per infection control standards.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications (Legally Required) :

Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required

BLS (AHA) certification required

ACLS (AHA) certification required if assigned to critical care units

Minimum 2 years of recent acute-care experience required per company policy

Shift Details : Type : Per Diem

Schedule : Variable, based on departmental needs

Setting : Inpatient acute-care hospital / Respiratory Therapy Department
