Financial Accountant

Responsible for providing accounting services to agencies supported by Shared Services. This includes inter-company, account reconciliations, journal entry postings and ad hoc requests on the Vantage general ledger system. Assist in other areas as needed. The schedule for this position is 6 : 00 AM - 2 : 30 PM.

Essential Functions :

  • Prepare variance analysis / commentaries
  • Prepare and process journal entries for areas of responsibility
  • Prepare account reconciliations and analysis ensuring balances are properly stated
  • Resolve intercompany out of balances within given deadlines
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly closing schedules required for consolidation reporting
  • Prepare month-end and year-end reporting for agencies supported by Shared Services
  • Assist internal and external personnel with questions relating to systems and processes maintained by Shared Services. (Vantage)
  • Ensure audit compliance on all transactions and assist with audit requests
  • Regular and reliable attendance required
  • Ability to work onsite in an office environment with limited remote work alternatives, consistent with applicable law

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements :

  • Associates degree or working toward a degree
  • One year of related accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to interface well with other internal departments and outside customers
  • Excel spreadsheet skills required (advanced excel skills such as macros a plus)
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work as a member of a team
  • Clear and timely communication, both internally and externally
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in multi-task environment with limited supervision
