A Senior Instructional Designer leads the analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex learning solutions by applying instructional design principles to meet organizational goals and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The role requires strong communication and leadership skills to create effective, innovative, and technically sound learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Needs Analyses and Front End Analyses
- Design, develop, and implement courseware for computer-based, web-based, and distributed learning presentations. Select instructional media, materials, and equipment to meet learning objectives
- Evaluate learning and instruction using formative and summative evaluation techniques.
- Use appropriate industry and government standards and specifications. Recommend effective innovative and creative uses of simulation and computer technologies to enhance instruction and create new learning environments; determines instructional strategies
- Research and produce clear documentation and other instructional materials to support courseware development
- Implement adult learning theory into courseware and distance learning environments
- Attend project meetings, and support proposal efforts as required

Required Experience
Maintains sensitive and confidential information as required by government standardsProficient with the design and development of instructor-led trainingHas experience with web or e-learning production, Learning Management Systems (LMS), SCORM, Section 508, and common web development applications.Follows standardized instructional design templates to produce lesson storyboard content, course flow diagrams, and instructor and student materials.Researches highly technical material and provides graphic and interaction descriptions for production.Interprets customer requirements and technical standards to produce effective training.Interacts effectively with peers and supervisorsInteracts appropriately with the public when necessaryAdheres to workplace rulesDevelops instructional design strategies and global templates appropriate to desired learning outcomes.Proficient with the following software applications :Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VisioMicrosoft ProjectAdobe Acrobat ProVarious courseware authoring software toolsPreferred Skills and Experience
