About the Role :

The Expeditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of operations within the hospitality and tourism environment, particularly in food service settings. This position acts as the communication hub between the kitchen staff and the front-of-house team, coordinating orders to guarantee timely and accurate delivery to guests. The Expeditor is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality control, verifying that each dish meets presentation and preparation specifications before it reaches the customer. By managing the pace of service and resolving any issues promptly, the Expeditor helps enhance the overall guest experience and supports operational excellence. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or food service environment, preferably in a similar expeditor or coordination role.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in high-volume restaurants.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and kitchen display technology.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate and prioritize food orders between kitchen staff and serving teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Inspect dishes for quality, accuracy, and presentation before they leave the kitchen.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs, servers, and management to address any order discrepancies or special requests.
  • Monitor the flow of service to prevent bottlenecks and maintain a steady pace during peak hours.
  • Assist in training new staff on expediting procedures and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting station to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management promptly.
  • Run food to tables as needed.
  • May assist with clearing tables, refilling water, serving bread, and restocking clean plates, silverware, and glassware.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, although not as detailed, as requested by a Manager at any time.
