CNC Field Service Engineer

Full-Time | Up to 100% Travel Required

Field-Based | Nationwide Travel

A leading provider in the machine tool industry is looking for a CNC Field Service Engineer to support customers across the U.S. You'll install, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of CNC machinesworking independently and as part of a high-performing service team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Travel to customer sitesoften on short noticefor service calls
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues on CNC machines
  • Install and align machine tools
  • Perform first-time power-up and servo system tuning
  • Rebuild and retrofit machine tool subassemblies
  • Use precision test equipment for diagnostics and calibration
  • Train customers on CNC control systems and operation
  • Dismantle and prepare machines for shipment
  • Document service activity and submit reports / expenses
  • Assist and mentor junior technicians
  • Communicate directly with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of experience servicing CNC 5-Axis machine tools in the field
  • Associate's degree in electronic engineering or equivalent experience
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Strong understanding of CNC controls, ladder logic, and parametric programming
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Experience with Renishaw Ballbar or Laser Calibration equipment
  • Scraping / fitting of machine tool components
  • CNC programming or applications knowledge
