Payroll Specialist
Addison Group is partnering with a well-established financial institution in Reston, VA, to hire a Payroll Specialist on a contract basis. This position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day payroll operations and assisting in a payroll process optimization initiative. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on ADP experience, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities :
- Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees through ADP Workforce Now.
- Support benefits-related payroll activities, including 401(k) contributions, deductions, and step-up matches.
- Assist with payroll-related accruals and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and employee data.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external consultants to review and streamline payroll workflows.
- Document and refine current payroll procedures during a multi-phase process improvement project.
- Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries and ensure timely, compliant processing.
- Use Excel for payroll tracking, reporting, and analysis.
Qualifications :
45 years of experience in payroll processing.ADP Workforce Now experience required.Experience processing both hourly and salaried payroll.Familiarity with benefits administration and payroll-related accounting (debits, credits, accruals).Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data-driven reporting.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive under deadlines.Degree not required; relevant experience prioritized.Why You'll Love This Role :
