Job Description

As a Security Officer - Tech / Media Patrols in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech / Media / Telecom, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a leading technology location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors. Your presence will be highly visible as you conduct routine patrols, respond to alarms, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. By upholding our values of agility, reliability, innovation, and teamwork, you will play a key role in fostering a welcoming and secure atmosphere for everyone on site.

What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary based on the location.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and / or employees to provide assistance and uphold site expectations.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related concerns, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel or Allied Universal management.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
