STORE STYLIST | JOB DESCRIPTION

At Meyers, were on a crusade to help owners improve the relationship between them and their dogs and be the HERO in their lives and we're the lifeguards. We are YODA and the pet owner is LUKE SKYWALKER. We exist for the pets & the owners who are not only visit the farm but in the community. We're doing work that matters.

Meyers is 3rd generation dog professionals. Kent & Gwen Meyer have led Meyers since their mid-twentieswhen they werent believable. They now have been teaching dog speak for over 25 years and have woven dog behavior into every aspect of services at Meyers. That will never change. What WILL changeand HAS to changeis HOW we do things. Were changing every day so we can INSPIRE more & more people with their dogs . . . and our Team of 45+ is changing and growing fast. We need help.

We need someone who has a servant heart for creative-artistic support and loves to play with pretty things. The right brain and the left brain must be firing on all cylinders. We need someone who balances the details in design principles with creativity.

WHO HELPS CREATE THE MEYER LOOK AND OFFERINGS

The display team is the group that creates the first impression of style and unique items when guests step into a Meyer location. It's finding the balance of design and comfort using the carefully curated products Meyer's offers to the greater community. Kent and Gwen never wanted to have their locations look or feel like a pet store. Our goal is to invite customers into our retail spaces to find not only unique goods for their pets but also for their homes and friends. The store stylist works directly under the owners and Roscoe location leader to help prototype, craft, and install displays.

  • Do you have an artistic background?
  • Does changing up your look in your own house each season trip your trigger?
  • Are you a self-starter who takes initiative?
  • Do you have a willingness to learn yet get messy in the process?

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Ability to lift and carry medium to large items, weighing up to 45 lbs. Must be able to stand, lift, and bend frequently throughout shift. Ability to go up and down ladders. Ability to work with power tools. Must be able to work outdoors enduring extreme weather.

    • Efficiently prototype display elements as needed

  • Contributes creative ideas and solutions regarding merchandising and display
  • Protect customer experience by engaging and interacting with clients, even if setting the floor or working on a project
  • Work on detail oriented display projects
  • High volume fabrication of displays for a high volume merchandiser
  • Uphold all company policies and supports Meyer mission

  • A team player with outstanding communication skills
  • Willing to go to all three locations for display work
  • A person who demonstrates follow-through skills
  • Good at dog handling skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Seeking a long term seat, is responsible, punctual and dependable

    • Familiar with power tools, basic construction techniques, sewing and installation art

  • Knowledge about the usage and maintenance of power tools
  • Ability to plan ahead, meet deadlines, and manage time
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team both conceptually and in execution
  • Familiarity with design principles
  • Pushes self to develop and measures progress against past performance
  • A put me in, coach attitude - This position will often deal with mundane tasks and minutia.

    • Basic Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have an artistic background. A formal degree is not required.

    • WHERE YOU WILL BE LOCATED :

  • home base will be Meyer's Canine Colony on historic Main Street in Roscoe, Illinois but you will need to be willing to display our other showrooms in Belvidere and Deforest, Wisconsin.
  • You'll report to our owners and Roscoe location leader to complete displays for Meyers
