SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II

Rocket Lab's Optical Systems division solves mission-critical space domain and ISR challenges for DoD and IC customers. Our vision is to revolutionize the space-based payload market with innovative designs for space, terrestrial, and airborne environments. We deliver solutions to the warfighter for responsive, scalable sensing across all orbital domains. Based at our Optical Systems site in Tucson, AZ, you will have the opportunity to build hardware for ground systems, vehicles, and spacecraft. To be successful, you must have experience in the design, fabrication, and test of electronics to support imaging systems, sensors, lasers, optical communication, and embedded processors. Proficiency with modern design tools is required. Join a driven team tackling challenging projects and making an impact on the future of space.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO

• Produce electrical concepts and designs for a wide variety of hardware and projects
• Collaborate with fabrication shops and vendors to complete fabrication of designs
• Drive designs through integration and test
• Demonstrate investigative and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues in the lab and in the field
• Work proactively to complete tasks with some direction
• Communicate effectively with project management, customers, and team members across disciplines
• Attend technical interchange meetings and represent the organization in project development matters
• Provide status on assigned tasks and program schedules
• Review documents and resolve technical engineering and integration issues
• Manage time and resources to meet deadlines
• Support travel or off-site work as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
