Child Life Specialist (Infusion)

Position Summary / Department Summary : Please note that this role is located in Waltham, MA. 20 hours a week. Infusion department / Child Life.

Key Responsibilities :

The Child Life Specialist will be responsible for :

• Participating in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, and facilitating adjustment to health care experiences for patients.
• Serving as member of multidisciplinary team.
• Delegating work assignments to volunteers and participating in clinical training of student interns.

Minimum Qualifications Education :

Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life.

600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.

Experience : General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced‑based knowledge. Well-developed writing skills, and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution to effectively work as a team member.

Licensure / Certifications : Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire
