Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring flexibility to float to both ICU and MS / Tele units and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the ICU of a short-term acute care hospital with floating responsibilities to MS / Tele units
  • Patient ratios : ICU patients 1 : 1-2, MS / Tele patients 1 : 4-5
  • Night shifts available : 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
  • Teaching hospital and Level IV trauma center with 87 staffed beds
  • Utilizes Cerner for charting; Cerner experience required
  • Uses standard med-surg / telemetry equipment and Liko lifts present in most patient rooms
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Every other weekend required
  • Role involves working in a flex pool and being adaptable to changing unit needs
  • ICU / PCU experience is ideal, but strong MS / Tele backgrounds will be considered
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Free parking available on site
  • All staff are expected to comply with facility medication administration and safety standards
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment spans holiday periods; no RTO allowed during orientation week
  • Return applicants with prior termination within 10 days of contract start at NAH are not eligible
  • Must wait 12 months after previous employment at Northern Arizona Healthcare before reapplying as a traveler
  • Candidates may be expected to float to affiliate hospitals as needed

    • Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or valid compact license required; pending accepted for consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU, MS / Tele, or PCU experience required
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Ability and willingness to float among ICU and MS / Tele units as needed
  • Two professional references required, one from most recent employer within 1 year
  • Cerner charting experience required
