POSITION SUMMARY : The Claims Advocate serves as a trusted advisor and liaison for commercial clients throughout the property and casualty claims process. This role ensures clients receive responsive, fair, and efficient handling of claims while protecting their financial and operational interests. The Claim Advocate brings technical expertise, strong negotiation skills, and a service-first mindset to deliver superior claims outcomes and reinforce the brokerage’s commitment to client advocacy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Client Advocacy : Represent commercial clients’ best interests in all claim matters, acting as the main point of contact between clients, insurance carriers, adjusters, and other stakeholders.
- Claims Oversight : Manage the end-to-end claims process across all lines of commercial P&C coverage, including property, general liability, auto, umbrella / excess liability, and workers’ compensation.
- Coverage Analysis : Review insurance policies and carrier determinations to evaluate coverage, identify potential gaps, and provide informed recommendations.
- Resolution Support : Assist clients in compiling documentation, coordinating investigations, and negotiating fair claim settlements with carriers and adjusters.
- Dispute Management : Escalate and advocate for clients in disputed claims, leveraging carrier relationships and policy expertise to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Client Communication : Provide proactive updates, set clear expectations, and ensure clients understand timelines and next steps throughout the claims process.
- Collaboration : Partner with producers and account managers to incorporate claims insights into renewal strategies, stewardship reports, and overall client service plans.
- Loss Mitigation : Educate clients on best practices for claims reporting, workplace safety, and risk prevention to reduce future loss exposure.

QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience in claims or insurance3–5+ years of experience handling commercial P&C claims in a brokerage, carrier, or risk management setting.Demonstrated ability to interpret policy language and apply claims best practices.Ability to manage multiple complex claims while meeting deadlines.Highly attentive to detail, skilled in all technical and analytical aspects of property and casualty claims.Utilization of interpersonal skills while communicating with people in tough situations.Ability to communicate with clients and insurance adjusters in a written format with excellent grammar and tone.Ability to use and learn advanced technology and agency management systems.Strong competency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook and intermediate Excel.Strong organization and communication skills.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY : This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : This position primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, use hands to operate a computer, keyboard and other office equipment. The role requires clear verbal and written communication, including use of the telephone, email, and other collaboration tools. Periodic standing, walking, and light lifting or carrying of materials (generally up to 10 pounds) may be required. COMPENSATION INFORMATION :
Pay Range : $65,000 - $100,000 (dependent on experience and / or qualifications)Bonus Potential : 5% of annual salaryTotal Compensation = Pay + Performance Bonus + Benefits
