Managing Director is a senior leadership role responsible for the studio’s overall business performance, operations, and team culture. This individual will oversee financial management, staffing, and process implementation to ensure the studio operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining its high creative standards.

Working closely with the Design Principals, the Managing Director will help translate creative vision into a structured, high-performing practice—building the systems and environment that support design excellence. Beyond internal operations, this role also involves shaping the studio’s broader portfolio, cultivating new opportunities, and strengthening client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial health including forecasting, profitability, and performance reporting. Ensure all projects meet business goals.
• Develop and manage systems, workflows, and resource planning to support efficiency, accountability, and quality across all phases of work.
• Lead, mentor, and develop staff while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and creatively driven culture.
• Partner with Design Principals to uphold and advance the studio’s creative vision, ensuring design intent is realized in execution.
• Identify and pursue new project opportunities, expand client relationships, and position the studio for strategic growth.
• Collaborate with leadership from affiliated hospitality ventures to align priorities and deliverables for shared projects.
• Represent the studio with clients, consultants, and industry peers, strengthening its reputation and market presence.
