 Registered Nurse (RN), Family Birthing Center (L&D)

Full-Time | 0.9 FTE| 12-hour shifts | Nights w / weekend rotation

$7,500 Sign-on Bonus Available

Labor and Delivery - 24 Bed unit consisting of LDRP / Postpartum and triage rooms. We follow AWHONN standards for nursing Unit has strong spirit of teamwork working together to care for high-risk Moms from throughout the UP. Collaborative provider who values nurse input and relationships. Challenged mostly in finding experienced staff and cyclically increased census requiring more staff.

How you will contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role will :

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual / psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and / or family and provides patient / family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

    • What we're looking for

    Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).

    Additional requirements include :

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) (within 1 year)
