Job Type : Full-time, salaried

Salary : $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience

Full job description :

The Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Alston Wilkes Society by supporting both marketing and fundraising efforts. This position is responsible for implementing a wide range of communication, donor engagement, and event-related activities under the direction of the VP of Marketing & Development. Working alongside the VP of Marketing & Development as the department's second team member, the ideal candidate must be highly self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision once trained. The successful candidate will be an exceptional writer, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and skilled in managing projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities :

Marketing & Communications (Primary Focus)

• Manage all social media platforms to promote events, thank donors, share impact stories, and encourage financial support.
• Produce and distribute :

Monthly email newsletters (via Constant Contact)

Internal staff newsletters

Three print newsletters annually

Draft, design, and coordinate donor appeal letters and fundraising campaigns.

Maintain and update website content related to events, news, staff changes, etc.

Design and produce marketing materials including signage, event programs, and sponsorship packages (using Canva, Adobe, or similar tools).

Assist with the creation and distribution of the agency's Annual Report.

Respond to external communications and requests for information.

Fundraising & Development Support

Note : All fundraising activities are assigned by and conducted under the supervision of the VP of Marketing & Development. This role focuses on implementation and support rather than independent fundraising

Enter and track donations in the CRM system (currently E-Tapestry but subject to change).

Generate donor and campaign reports.

Assist with coordination of event sponsorships for the Annual Meeting and other events :

Manage solicitation letters, follow-up, tracking, and collection of sponsor artwork

Coordinate ticket sales, logistics, and promotional activities

Additional Duties

Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather information and meet communication deadlines.

Present and speak at events or meetings.

Stay current on nonprofit communication trends and technologies (training and professional development opportunities available)

Travel required for meetings, conferences, events, etc. Some travel may be at night.

Physical Requirements :

Moderate physical activity is required to perform essential job functions, which includes walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time.

Must have the ability to transport materials for presentations and training.

Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.

Schedule :

Most work takes place between 8 : 30 a.m. – 5 : 00 p.m., Monday – Friday, but expectation is that you will also work outside these hours for job duties such as presentations, special events, etc.
