Your work schedule will generally consist of 1 to 2 hours a week. However, there will be occasional duties that will require additional time. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Annual reviews of policy / procedure, CQI, infection control, nursing protocols and chronic care guidelines
- Occasional new prescriber training
- Occasional psychiatric mortality review
- Creation and implementation of new policies, procedures and / or programs as needed
The primary role of the Chief Psychiatric Officer will be to provide leadership and direction for all Psychiatric activities associated with the Company. The CPO provides professional knowledge and experience to give the "psychiatric clinical voice" in the implementation of the company's policies. This position requires a proactive approach to the development and implementation of the Company's policy in a continuously evolving healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure effective and efficient policies and procedures are in place for respective areas of responsibility and in compliance with the regulatory requirements.Provide consultation on professional and clinical issues relating to physicians and other allied healthcare professionals.Examine existing medical care standards, protocols and practices; revise and enhance; puts in place benchmarks to ensure that patients are receiving evidence-based mental health care.Ensuring compliance with Mental healthcare regulations and safety standards.Assess individual cases for potential risk.Provide leadership of the psychiatric health direction of the CompanyKnowledge of NCCHC standards is a plusSkills, Knowledge and Expertise
Doctor of Medicine (MD)Stated and Federal DEA CertificationDemonstrate previous medical leadershipClinical risk management experience
