Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical CAD & Revit Designer to join our Design & BIM team. This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining precise electrical drawings and 3D models to support E.M. Duggan’s large-scale projects. The Electrical CAD & Revit Designer will work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure our electrical systems are designed for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with codes and standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design, a thorough understanding of NEC and construction practices, and advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Bluebeam, and related tools. Key Responsibilities :
1. Design & Drafting :
- Develop, modify, and maintain detailed electrical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Prepare layouts for lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, telecommunications, security, and other low-voltage systems.
- Generate accurate construction documents, panel schedules, riser diagrams, schematics, and as-built drawings.
2. Collaboration & Coordination :
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to ensure drawings reflect current design intent and field conditions.Work closely with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams to achieve seamless system integration.Participate in BIM coordination meetings, supporting clash detection and resolution.Review and redline drawings using Bluebeam Revu for coordination, markups, and field input.3. Quality & Compliance :
Ensure all designs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local / state regulations, and project specifications.Maintain consistency with company drafting standards and file organization protocols.Provide technical support to field personnel during construction to resolve design-related issues.Support value-engineering efforts by identifying design alternatives that enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Qualifications :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting / Design, or related field (preferred).Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical drafting / design, preferably in commercial construction.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with BIM 360 and Navisworks is a plus.Strong working knowledge of NEC, IBC, and relevant building codes.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset.Working Conditions :
