The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee invites applications and nominations for two tenure-track, Assistant / Associate Professor positions in the Department of Finance. Faculty members are expected to publish in top finance journals, to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and to contribute to the intellectual life of the university. Candidates must be able to work effectively within a Department and a College that places significant emphasis on interaction and cross-functional integration. Effective date of employment will be August 1, 2026, or when filled. Compensation will be competitive.
Program Information
The Department of Finance is one of seven departments within the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. The Department has a mission that includes excellence in research, teaching and service, while working within the framework of the College’s overall mission. The Department enjoys a strong and meaningful position within the College, and faculty members are active participants in College-wide programs and priorities. The Department of Finance is the largest major at The University of Tennessee and includes curriculum at the undergraduate, MBA and doctoral levels; and the Department houses the Masters Investment Learning Center. The Department values a collegial environment where faculty members work well with each other and with doctoral students.

Duties / Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission at the undergraduate and eventually at the MBA and / or Ph.D. levels. Research requirements include a strong and continuing record of publication in top-tier journals in the field of finance and an interest in working with other faculty members and graduate students on research projects.
