Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a cardiovascular unit with MI RN license and telemetry skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes heart failure, heart attack (STEMI / NSTEMI), stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain
  • Possible care of overflow medical patients as needed
  • Patient ratios may increase to 1 : 7 temporarily
  • PCA support is available on the unit
  • Cardiac drips are administered to patients
  • Telemetry monitoring is performed in-room and remotely
  • Charting is completed using Cerner Powerchart
  • Day shift schedule : 3x12 hour shifts (07 : 00–19 : 30)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • No call required
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, but efforts will be made to accommodate
  • Primary responsibilities include delivering telemetry nursing care to cardiac and medically complex patients
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive team including PCAs
  • Caribbean Blue scrubs are required
  • Must be willing to care for both cardiac and general medical overflow patients
  • Holiday coverage applies to 2 out of 3 major holidays as scheduled

  • Active MI RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry or cardiovascular unit RN experience
  • Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
