With over 30 years of experience in the acquisition, development, rehabilitation, and management of apartment communities across the Western United States, we are a trusted partner in the property management industry. We are looking for a Tax Director who will be responsible for the management of the income tax function and preparation for all partnerships owned and controlled by the company and its affiliates. The Tax Director will also oversee the tax team and provide guidance and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ability to prepare, organize and coordinate the federal and state income tax return process for the company's 140 partnerships each year
• Distribution of over 18,000 K-1s to the investors by the March 15 deadline
• Calculate and prepare journal entries for book / tax differences
• Oversee the filing of all business personal property tax filings
• Assist with all monthly and quarterly state filings
• Coordinate the filing of all Federal and State withholding forms
• Assist VP of Tax and Treasury in coordinating with outside CPA's and consultants
• Manage the Company's tax department to ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state and local tax returns
• Stay updated on current tax practices and changes in tax laws across operating states
• Train and mentor staff
