The Opportunity

We are obsessed with performanceafter all, we measure the worlds fastest networks! We're currently seeking a Data Engineer III who will help support and elevate the technology experience for our distributed global team of remote and in-office employees. Youll be instrumental in keeping things running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. Most importantly, youll be supporting peoplenot just their devices.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and help drive the implementation of our data platform based on AWS
  • Design, implement, and operate streaming and batch pipelines that scale
  • Partner with both engineers and data analysts to build reliable datasets that can be trusted, understood, and used by the rest of the company

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working with data pipelines in at least one cloud, preferably AWS
  • Know and have worked with Python
  • Comfortable in SQL
  • Experience in creating and optimising data models suited for data analysts used in BI tools such as Tableau
  • Embrace a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Have prior professional experience in building streaming and batch pipelines
  • Experience in DBT or Dataform
  • Familiarity with data orchestration (Apache Airflow)
  • Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
  • Know your way around BigQuery and / or other data warehouse solutions such as Amazon Redshift
  • You should be passionate about your job and enjoy a fast-paced international working environment
  • You should be able to explain technical trade-offs and risks in non-technical language and have experience creating diagrams and documentation for cross-team alignment
  • You have broad experience breaking down high-level system designs into deliverable tasks and are able to provide realistic time and resource estimates
  • Background or experience in the telecom industry is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Love automating and enjoy monitoring
  • Machine learning experience is a bonus

    Compensation

    Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. The salary compensation for this role is $140,000 / year up to $160,000 / year. Individual pay within the range is determined based on experience, scope of the role, capabilities, education, training, and company performance. Ziff Davis is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
