Overview
The Social Media Manager is responsible for implementing strategic social media approaches that connect brands and people with thoughtful and engaging marketing solutions. You should be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement.
Responsibilities
- Proactively driving winning ideas forward as part of their strategic planning process
- Simultaneously managing platforms and clients in a fast-paced environment
- Integrating social and consumer insight into context that builds brands
- Seeking out, embracing and identifying innovative ways to amplify social advocates for our clients’ brands
- Using relevant social data and reporting to consistently optimize social media impact and content on an ongoing basis
- Identifying and engaging online influencers such as bloggers, YouTubers, Instagram influencers, etc.
- Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
- Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
- Set specific objectives and report on ROI
- Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
- Monitor SEO metrics
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure brand consistency
- Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
- Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
- Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
- Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
Qualifications
2+ years social media experience required; should have a proven record of obtaining resultsDemonstrate creativity and documented immersion in social media, with in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platformsStrong understanding of user-generated content management, content marketing and reputation managementExperience with traditional public relations tactics and how they intersect with social media in today’s digital worldStrong understanding of social media and community trends / technology is a must, as is the ability and flexibility to own and operate day-to-day social operationsExceptional attention to detail and time management skills, including ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and shifting prioritiesStrategic content creation and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to work with a wide range of personalities and audiencesUnderstanding of analytics, all social media platforms, and social media advertisingThe ideal candidate would have
