Automated Equipment Mechanic Specialist

Role Overview

We are looking for an Automated Equipment Mechanic (AEM) to support the Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.

As an Automated Equipment Mechanic, you will have the following responsibilities :

AEM skilled trade to provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC's), and electrical components)

Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment

Some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls

Ability to achieve a high level of expertise of chemical process equipment for effective troubleshooting and equipment repair

Execute preventive maintenance program

Calibrate, alignment and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools

Qualifications include :

HS diploma

Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and / or AEM training and demonstrated experience

Mechanical equipment repair training and / or demonstrated experience : pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment

Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills

Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings

Able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Excellent safety record - places safety and environment as top priority in all work

Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out

Understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)

Good communication skills - daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed

Good team player - willing be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed

Minimum Education Level and Experience :

2-year schooling and / or 5 plus years of demonstrated experience

Work Schedule :

Work schedule will be days 6am to 230PM
