Senior Financial Coordinator, Third Party

Position Summary

The Senior Financial Coordinator, Third Party is an experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of the financial and insurance dimensions of infertility care and experience in the full array of infertility patient financial coordination. The Senior Financial Coordinator, Third Party, will be responsible for coordinating the financial aspects of the patient's care throughout their treatment, serving as the lead on financial coordination of third-party reproduction cases, and managing internal resources.

As a senior member of the team, the incumbent will leverage their subject matter expertise, leadership skills, and problem-solving experience to train PFCs and provide guidance on complex cases. They will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the Patient Financial Services team by leading projects and supporting the Patient Financial Manager on quality and change initiatives

Responsibilities

Third-Party Reproduction

• Serve as primary patient contact on financial matters throughout the course of treatment. Perform all financial coordination duties, as detailed above, for third-party reproduction cases.
• Serve as SME on financial matters for patients using donors or gestational carriers throughout the course of the process.
• Effect smooth transfer of patients from previous Patient Financial Coordinator to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide updates and trainings as needed to the team on how to transition patients to third-party services.
• Review and ensure collection of fees specific to third-party reproduction, including testing and donor administration fees.
• Ensure that internal resources for third-party reproduction services (e.g., pricing sheets, tip sheets, and references) are accurate and up-to-date.
• Provide PFCs shadowing and learning opportunities to expose them to third-party reproduction. Provide training as appropriate, as determined by the manager.
• Collaborate with the manager to identify training opportunities and develop curriculum.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of third-party patient care by sharing knowledge gaps and ideas with managers.
• Serve as project manager as assigned and collaborate with Third Party Reproduction Manager for implementation of solutions.
• Serve as liaison to the Third Party Reproduction team. Attend team meetings and communicate key updates between Third Party and Patient Financial Services teams. Track effectiveness of workflows and report to the manager.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned / requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in patient financial coordination for infertility care.
• Experience with financial coordination for third-party reproduction cases.
• Ability to build rapport with and communicate effectively in both oral and written form with patients, professional staff, and providers. Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to deliver consistently exceptional service.
• Ability to manage complex cases in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Demonstrated advanced skills in problem assessment and collaborative problem-solving.
• Excellent team collaboration, relationship management, and mentorship skills including, but not limited to, emotional intelligence, communication, empathy, and ability to handle situations with respect, tact, and sensitivity. Ability to lead others through new and changing situations.
• Ability to stay organized, adapt, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to work independently and follow through.
• Ability to use project management skills and tools to plan, execute, assess, and report on projects and initiatives to improve team operations and performance.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) or similar software is required, and an ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in an infertility center.
• Experience with training or mentorship.
