Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft
- Prepare work plans and work packages
- Conduct quality inspections
- Order and schedule material deliveries including supplies
- Assist in tasks like field surveying, labor timesheets, and preparing JHA's
- Document and communicate schedule progress and quantities to support 3-week and 90-day schedule updates
- Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety trainings
- Supervise field operations
Office Engineering
Takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documentsPerform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operationsAssist with entering data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite managementMaintain basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including submittals, daily reports, photographs, RFIs, and memorandumsGenerate change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project ManagerProvide field support and supervise subcontractor operationsEstimating
Review and analyze data relative to projects, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bidComplete plans and specification reviews for projects while assessing risk areasComplete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documentsQualifications
Ability and willingness to travel and relocate to small and large cities as business requiresUndergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related degree preferredInfrastructure / Heavy Civil project experience preferredPassion for safety, with the ability to help ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time including working rotating schedules, shift work, or weekend work as required by projectsDemonstrated commitment to ethics, integrity, and taking initiativeStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectivesStrong time management ability and attention to detailMust have valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from workOther Requirements
