Job Description

Location : Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite in Lansing, MI (Tues / Weds)

Contract Length : Long-term engagement (with potential for full-time conversion)

Local candidates preferred, non-local candidates must be available for in-person interview and able to relocate at their own expense with no delay

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support enterprise-level database operations and migration projects. This role requires strong expertise with Sybase ASE and SQL Server, as well as a solid understanding of Unix / Linux systems. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of hands-on technical depth and troubleshooting skills in formal change-control environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Sybase ASE 15.7 and SQL Server database environments.
• Support ongoing migration efforts from Sybase to SQL Server.
• Troubleshoot complex database and performance issues.
• Develop, schedule, and manage automation processes using UNIX / Solaris / Linux scripting.
• Work on clustering, backup, and disaster recovery solutions across multiple environments.
• Ensure compliance with change management and deployment standards.
• Collaborate with DBA peers and infrastructure teams to deliver database enhancements.
