SEO / GEO / AEO Specialist

Location : Houston, TX | Hybrid

Type : Full-Time, Contractor

At Social Habit Marketing , we help ambitious brands grow their influence and revenue through data-backed marketing strategies that actually convert.

We’re looking for an AI-forward SEO Specialist — someone who not only dominates traditional SEO but also understands the emerging role of AI-driven search visibility (AEO – Answer Engine Optimization) and the power of being recommended by tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity .

What You’ll Own (Key Responsibilities) AI-Enhanced SEO Strategy

  • Develop SEO + AEO roadmaps that integrate AI-based search trends and LLM visibility.
  • Optimize client content to be referenced, cited, or sourced by AI models like ChatGPT .

Strategy & Planning

  • Build quarterly SEO game plans aligned with business and AI-driven search goals.
  • Prioritize initiatives that impact both search engines and AI-powered discovery tools .

    • Keyword Research & Mapping

  • Build intent-driven keyword clusters focused on traditional SERPs and AI prompts.
  • Identify semantic structures that align with natural language model interpretations .

    • On-Page, Technical & AEO SEO

  • Own all things meta : titles, descriptions, headers, schema, and rich snippets.
  • Optimize for AI indexation — answer engine optimization (AEO), featured snippets, knowledge graph inclusion.
  • Implement and test structured data that supports AI comprehension and summarization.

    • AI Entity Optimization

  • Build out and reinforce brand and author entities for inclusion in ChatGPT citations and source recommendations .
  • Audit for E-E-A-T signals that AI and Google alike use to measure trustworthiness.

    • Analytics & Reporting

  • Build dashboards across GA4, GSC,
  • Track SERP + AI visibility metrics (brand mentions in AI summaries, inclusion in chatbot responses, etc.).

    • Local SEO

  • Manage and optimize GBP (Google Business Profiles).
  • Ensure consistent and structured data that enhances local discovery in both search engines and AI-powered local guides .

    • Content Collaboration

  • Collaborate with writers to ensure content is machine-readable and AI-citable .
  • Provide content briefs that prioritize informational depth and semantic richness .

    • Link Earning (Not Buying)

  • Build strategic relationships that result in high-authority backlinks and AI-trusted sources .
  • Monitor and disavow toxic links.

    • SEO + AI Testing

  • Run controlled experiments across SEO and AI exposure variables (e.g., question-answer format content, expert citations, prompt engineering for mentions).
  • Track and report improvements in AI-based visibility .

    • You’ll Crush It Here If You Have :

  • 1–4+ years of SEO experience with provable wins in organic growth.
  • Familiarity with AI content trends and LLM-based search behavior .
  • Command of GA4, GSC, Ahrefs / Semrush, Screaming Frog, WordPress / Webflow.
  • Understanding of E-E-A-T , structured data, and on-page best practices.
  • Strong writing and data communication chops.
  • A bias toward action

    • Bonus Points For :

  • Experience optimizing content to appear in ChatGPT / Perplexity / Gemini Citations
  • Familiarity with tools like NeuronWriter, SurferSEO, or Frase.
  • Experience with programmatic SEO or prompt engineering.

  • Growth in organic sessions, non-brand rankings, and AI tool visibility .
  • Featured snippet wins and LLM model mentions .
  • Technical SEO health improvements (CWV, crawlability, etc.)
  • Ethical backlink growth.
  • Conversion from organic traffic.

    • First 90 Days Game Plan

    Days 0–30 : Audit SEO + AEO readiness, identify quick wins

    Days 31–60 : Optimize key pages for both SERP + AI response formats, ship content briefs

    Days 61–90 : Launch internal linking + AEO entity plan, run first AI SEO test, deliver Q4 roadmap
